The screen is flickering, showing static/noise, or blacking out during surgery. Is it a cable issue?

A: Most likely, yes. Fiber breakage or dirty connectors are the main causes. Follow these steps:

• Check the plug: Unplug the connector from the OTV-S400 processor. Clean the gold contact pins and the optical ports with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Ensure it is completely dry before plugging it back in.
• The "Wiggle" Test: Turn on the system and gently bend/wiggle different sections of the cable—specifically near the camera head connection and the connector plug. If the image flickers or cuts out when wiggled, the optical fibers inside are fractured, and the cable assembly needs repair.
